Hilton Istanbul Airport opens as IST's first connected outside hotel

Hilton has opened a 485-room hotel beside Istanbul Airport, adding accommodation within walking distance of the terminal at one of Europe’s busiest aviation hubs. The opening, announced on August 12, marks the company’s 100th hotel in Türkiye and expands the options for travelers stopping overnight, catching early departures or meeting near the airport.
Hilton Istanbul Airport includes rooms and suites with runway views, an executive lounge overlooking aircraft gates, and facilities aimed at business, leisure and transit guests. For passengers, the principal attraction is proximity: Hilton places the hotel approximately 150 meters from the terminal doors, opposite the airport building. A nearby metro station provides a public transport option for guests heading into Istanbul during a longer stopover. Its opening also introduces Hilton’s OXBO dining brand to Türkiye, with a restaurant, café and a bar operating around the clock.
The opening serves one of the world's largest and busiest airports, one that operates 24 hours a day and has grown rapidly since its inauguration on October 29, 2018. Istanbul Airport became fully operational on April 6, 2019, following the transfer of scheduled passenger services from Atatürk Airport.
In 2025, it handled approximately 84.5 million passengers and 549,319 aircraft movements, according to Türkiye’s State Airports Authority. Those totals equate to roughly 231,000 passengers and 1,505 takeoffs and landings per day, averaged across the year, illustrating the scale of demand surrounding the new property.
The hotel also has eight meeting rooms and a ballroom seating 250 guests. Wellness facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath and three treatment rooms, including one for couples. The fitness center is accessible 24 hours a day, while the pool and bathing facilities operate during scheduled hours.
Istanbul Airport already has Yotel accommodation on both sides of passport control within the terminal: YOTEL operates landside, while YOTELAIR serves passengers airside in the international transit area. The Hilton adds an exterior hotel with walking access to the airport. Hilton describes it as Türkiye’s first internationally branded hotel adjacent to airport grounds; its published information establishes proximity to the terminal, but does not confirm a direct physical connection. That distinction separates the new opening from the accommodation already operating inside the building.
