Saudi Arabia’s new Red Sea International Airport (RSI) has announced its first international service offerings with the launch of a twice-weekly flight to Dubai International Airport (DXB ) on regional carrier FlyDubai. While the airport already serviced domestic airports within the kingdom, this marks its first cross-border destination and the first phase of its plan to eventually receive a million guests annually.
Passengers can use the new airport for quicker access to the dozens of new resorts and mega-resorts that will soon dot the kingdom’s Red Sea coast. Two of the resorts within the Red Sea Project area are already open for reservations, including Six Senses Southern Dunes and the St. Regis Red Sea Resort. The Red Sea area giga-project will eventually host up to 50 similar luxury resorts that will also offer a wide range of dining, entertainment, sporting, and yachting activities for vacationers.
